How we're making OCD treatment more effective, affordable, and convenient

1

Research suggests that 96% of people with OCD don't surface in claims data. As a result, many people with OCD only get treatment for their symptoms—not the root cause. We help health plans identify people with OCD, diagnose them correctly, and connect them with effective treatment.

2

We engage millions in the OCD community through online community feeds, clinically reviewed content, and videos in collaboration with leading OCD experts & advocates, building trust and providing clinically sound education.

3

We enroll people in NOCD Therapy: live virtual therapy sessions with NOCD Therapists—licensed providers who are trained and tested by our clinical leadership team—with support between sessions from peer communities, self-help tools, therapist messaging, and more.

Clinical impact studies

By transforming how the OCD population is identified, engaged, and managed, we help Members achieve better results in less time.

This 1.5 year long study analyzed over 3,500 NOCD Therapy Members, and found that OCD symptoms, depression, anxiety, and stress decreased in half the time needed for traditional ERP therapy in an outpatient setting—resulting in substantial monetary and time savings as well as increased quality of life. Strong clinical outcomes: The majority of participants saw significant improvements across standard OCD symptom measures following NOCD's virtual ERP protocol. Rapid time to improvement: Meaningful reduction in symptoms occurred earlier than typically seen in in-person or non-specialty care. Go to study →

This study demonstrated that virtually delivered HRT significantly reduced symptom severity, depression, and anxiety in over 1,000 individuals with body focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), including hair-pulling and skin-picking. Go to study →

When delivered concurrently in a virtual setting, exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy and prolonged exposure (PE) was clinically effective at treating individuals with co-occurring OCD and PTSD—reducing symptoms by 40-50%, alleviating depression and anxiety, and improving overall quality of life. This study examining 167 patients showed that virtual habit reversal training (HRT) therapy can effectively reduce tic severity, and significantly reduce stress for people with tic disorders. Go to study →

This first of its kind study found that in-person exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy combined with weekly phone calls and a mobile app resulted in clinically meaningful reductions in OCD symptoms. Go to study →

This observational analysis showed the effectiveness of a peer support intervention to improve adherence to ERP in those with OCD, with those who engaged in peer support spending more time in therapy than those who did not. Go to study →

Economic outcomes

The clinical effectiveness of NOCD Therapy is consistently reinforced by research from our partners illuminating the economic impact of specialized ERP therapy on their member populations.
